Ledgent is partnering with a contractor in the north metro looking to add a Payroll Specialist to the team.
Direct Hire. $70-$75k + Bonus. Hybrid/flexible schedule (only 1x/week on-site).
Ideal candidate would have experience processing payroll in a medium to large employee environment (600+ employees, multi-state) and have extensive experience with prevailing wages, union (multiple), and in-house payroll software (BONUS).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end weekly payroll processing for union-represented employees
- Compile and submit monthly reports related to union benefit programs
- Prepare certified payroll documentation on a weekly basis
- Develop monthly utilization and workforce reporting
- Ensure adherence to prevailing wage requirements and related compliance standards
- Deliver high-quality support to internal teams and external partners
- Lead the payroll component of onboarding sessions for field supervisors
- Set up new employee profiles and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 2-5 years of relevant payroll experience within a comparable industry
- 3-5 years handling full-cycle, multi-state payroll in an in-house environment
- Background in construction, manufacturing, or other unionized workplaces required
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an advantage
- Experience working in a digital/paperless workflow
- Prior involvement in certified payroll processes
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication, service-oriented mindset, and organizational skills
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives within an accounting or payroll department is highly valued
